Is it true that Olive oil is good for your skin?

Is it true that Olive oil is good for your skin? I mean, washing your face with it? not directly of course, but in Greece for example, they sll Olive oil soap bars and I heard from many people that it is good for your skin...if that's true, then why? what can you benefit from it?

Well, im not sure what exactly it does, but i think it works as a moistureizer for your skin. Olive oil in lots of stuff but i dont think u should wash ur self in oil..
Olive oil will moisterize Skin and Hair but takes very little esp on Hair . But you need to watch skin since it is a oil can clog pores and cause breakouts in sensitive skin and why better to use the soap-can buy at any Health Food Store actually NEEM Soap-also at health Food Store is better.It is very helpful to take a teaspoon of olive oil internally,just swallow daily for will make skin be great from the inside-nutrients in it absorbed into the bloodstream and then it may make skin stronger although genes are more involved in the density of skin than what you put on it.
Olive oil is great for your skin. My family is Italian and my mother and grandmothers use it all the time. Extra virgin is the best. It works as a moisturizer. Dump some in the palm of your hand and rub it straight on your skin. It absorbs fairly quickly and you will see great results. My great-great-grandmother never washed her hair. She used olive oil and would comb it through her hair every night. My great aunt said her head was as clean as a whistle! I've never tried it for that though!
