';In the nature argument, black men, in comparison to white and Latino men, have more of a natural proclivity to walk away from their children; in the nurture argument, the irresponsibility is bred into black men as part of their societal conditioning.';

While vilifying absent black fathers, this ignores the fact that many black fathers have been driven out of their children's lives by vengeful or selfish mothers and the family courts which support them. As one black father notes:
'; All the official talk about promoting black fatherhood doesn't amount to anything. I did the best I could as a father but the moment I wasn't convenient anymore I was gone. The courts didn't care about my kids having time with me, all they cared about was my money, and I don't even have much.';

Even after three DNA tests proved Smith was not the biological father of her child, this woman still went after him with a relentless vigor.

http://glennsacks.com/blog/?p=1731Is it true that a unusually high proportion of black men have never know their biological father?

It is something quite interesting to note in an American Environment. True or false is to be confirmed with fact %26amp; figure.
Just conduct a study to find out the details.
As I know, many 3rd world country in SE Asia has this problem. In philippines, the high school girls experience sex without the knowhow for protection and when having baby, the boys without earning power and frighten of the act tends to runaway without commitment. The girls are left with the babies and need to support the family, so they need to go overseas to earn a living with more income to finance the family. The old mother %26amp; granny will help out in family %26amp; baby care.
Similarly, the Thai %26amp; the Indonesian are usually with early marriages %26amp; early birth of babies....with insufficient earning to support the family, so will leave home for outside work to earn more for the family. These situation resulted in many broken or semi-broken families, so most of the time with single parent %26amp; granny looking after the babies, children %26amp; teenagers.........become problem kids.
There are some similar aspects of life for these countries as well as the black families in US........not too sure for me. Not been to US to see or study.
Truthfully I don't know, but I would doubt the validity of the statement.
Are you talking about Africans or Americans?
Perhaps in certain cites and neighborhoods in America.
I would think that this applies more to Asians and Mexicans, many of whom become economic immigrants and have to leave their families behind.
yes but the numbers for caucaisions are rising as well
some do know their father but their fathers decided not to be a part of their lives
