Like in The UK, or Scotland, do they study more in their Universities? And do their educational requirements faster ?Is it true that universities in other countries,Europe for example does their degree faster%26amp;it is more complex?
I'm not very knowledgeable as to the US university system, but I know the UK universities very well, so can tell you about them and you can compare.
In the UK, (unlike in America) you apply to university to do a single subject - for example 'English' or 'Medicine'. Sometimes you can do it with another, related subject (e.g. 'English and History'). Most undergraduate degrees take place over three years, although some last longer, for example a medical degree takes four years. This is obviously very different from the US system where you take Majors and Minors.
During your degree, you will have set 'units' which you have to study (for example if studying English Literature, there will probably be a unit on Shakespeare which everyone taking that degree will have to do. The unit will last about a term - semester - and will take the form of several lectures and seminars, usually ending in either an essay or an exam) and then a selection of other ones from which you can choose. (So if I really don't want to study something like Chaucer, I can choose to study War Poetry instead.)
At the end of your degree, you can choose to take a postgraduate degree, which is usually a Masters. After that you can go on to do a PhD. I think that's pretty similar to the US system?
